This Belgian initiative has been supporting and accompanying survivors of domestic or family violence since 1977. With a dedicated telephone helpline and on-site reception, CPVCF helps with administrative procedures, a safe place to talk, education workshops and, for women (with or without children), the possibility of accommodation at a confidential address.
At the heart of The Nine lies a powerful commitment: to champion gender and social equality at every level of society – starting within our own spaces, but also across professional sectors, and throughout the broader cultural landscape.
Established in 2020, The Nine Equality Initiative was created in response to a growing need for action-oriented, community-driven solutions to persistent gender disparities.
Inspired by the work of grassroots organisations, changemakers, and advocates throughout Belgium, the initiative was designed to amplify existing efforts, provide tangible support, and create new opportunities for equity and inclusion.
Through collaboration, education, and sustained advocacy, The Nine Equality Initiative continues to serve as a catalyst for systemic change, empowering individuals and organisations to work together toward a more just and balanced future.
By becoming a member of The Nine, you automatically join the Equality Initiative. A portion of every membership fee – across Standard, NGO, and Young memberships – directly supports our initiatives.
In addition, we also host regular public charity events and fundraisers, aligned with our mission and open to all, to generate additional impact and awareness.
Many organisations also look to us to facilitate gender-balanced workshops and training sessions, to foster fair & inclusive leadership, mindful dialogue, and cultural awareness in day-to-day operations.
At the end of each calendar year, the Equality Initiative donates 100% of funds raised to a range of local and international organisations that align with our values. Read more about the different projects and organisations we have supported in the past and continue to collaborate with.
