Rebuilding Strength When Your Body Goes Through Hormonal Transitions
09/04/2026 - From 19h30 to 21h30 - Members OnlyRegistration mandatory
We all know our energy fluctuates and our bodies go through constant change. But have you ever learned how to work with those changes instead of against them?
In this session, you’ll discover why intentional strength training is essential during a woman’s major life transitions and how to approach it in a way that supports, rather than fights, your body. Throughout our lives, phases such as pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause reshape how we function in the world. Mood, sleep, body temperature, metabolism, and even the way we move through everyday tasks can shift in ways that feel beyond our control.
Together, we’ll explore how these transitions impact the body and how developing a thoughtful fitness routine can reduce, and often reverse, many of their effects. Strength training isn’t just about appearance. It can regulate mood, build confidence, stabilise the nervous system, and help minimise the disruption caused by major hormonal shifts. Most importantly, it can help you feel grounded and in control again.
You will learn:
- Why strength training matters during pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause
- How the pelvic floor functions and how it is affected during these phases
- How to reconnect with your purpose in each stage and use it as motivation
This workshop includes gentle, low-impact movement: think deep breathing, light core work, and mobility exercises. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement, bring a water bottle and a yoga mat.
About our instructor:
Clair Van Gorp, founder of SustainFit, is an American living in Brussels with her husband and two sons. She has been training women since 2019 starting as a personal trainer at Equinox Fitness Clubs in Chicago and New York. Prior to her career in fitness, she worked in both corporate America and for the US government. Fitness has always been a major part of her life. After the birth of her first son in 2021 she struggled (even as a certified fitness trainer) to connect to fitness when she felt disconnected from this new version of herself. She took some time to reflect on her purpose and finding her why is what had the biggest impact on her postpartum fitness journey. She dove into continued education and certifications on women’s fitness and launched SustainFit in 2023 with the goal of helping women reset, build the foundations, and discover the new strength and power we can have even when it seems impossible.
I feel strongly that all women should be armed with the knowledge of what occurs in their own bodies, especially during phases as big as pregnancy, postpartum and menopause which is why I want to share the knowledge I have with other women. Through work with my clients, I hear the frustration that can come from no longer understanding your body and the drive to discover it. If I can be one piece of the puzzle to help make those connections, I am grateful.
