Brainstorming Session: How to Handle Everyday Sexism

30/05/2024 - From 17h30 to 19h00 - Public

On 8 March, we were at The Nine discussing what holds women back in the workplace. We started sharing our stories, how evolving in a sexist work environment can be challenging, facing sexist comments and situations, and how it’s not always easy to have the right reaction at the right time.

Very quickly the idea of having a tool guiding us in these moments came up. No-one taught us how to cope with sexist behaviors. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we had some sort of handbook where women share their wisdoms, tips and best practices on how to handle sexism in every day life?

The Nine team, together with Board of Advisor member, Valérie Kinoo, decided to bring this idea to life and we need your help.

We would like to organise a brainstorming session where women will share their experiences in the workplace - but not only, the sexism encountered in their everyday life and how they faced it. From our conversations, we will create different categories to help us structure the tool. We would also like to have a chapter for men who witness sexism and don’t know how to best defend women when it happens.

What to expect?

  • Safe space where you can share your personal and professional stories
  • Contribute to the creation of a handbook, created by women for women
To give you every chance of participating, we will give you the possibility to join online via a Google form.

All you have to do is show up, we will take care of the rest and facilitate the conversations.

Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
